Case Study:
REAL System Y-Series
Immersive Rehabilitation Brochure
Challenge. Penumbra needed to introduce the groundbreaking REAL Y-Series, an FDA-cleared VR rehabilitation system, in a way that was visually compelling yet fully compliant with strict regulatory standards. Marketing materials had to balance technical accuracy with accessibility for clinicians, patients, and caregivers.
Approach. I designed and art-directed the Y-Series brochure, creating visuals that mirrored the immersive VR experience while adhering to FDA guidelines. This included selecting and guiding imagery to ensure clarity and accessibility for diverse audiences. The layout balanced hardware, software, and therapy stories in a format that was professional, engaging, and easy to navigate. Importantly, the Y-Series brochure became the first in a series, establishing the design language and structure that subsequent REAL System brochures would follow, ensuring consistency across the brand.
Result. The Y-Series brochure launched as a cornerstone of the REAL System marketing toolkit. It reinforced Penumbra’s identity as an innovator in neurorehabilitation and provided a scalable, brand-consistent template that shaped all future brochures. This continuity strengthened recognition among clinicians and gave the marketing team a repeatable framework for ongoing product launches.
